BASIC RULES

The staff at New Blackborough agree- we don't need to bog you down with too many rules. We expect a certain level of skill from our RPers and we're open to answering questions, but we still may need to change the site rules as time goes on.
With freedom comes responsibility. We're open to creative, new additions to this site- but we have seen our share of mary and gary sues. So, we're going to need you to respect the opinions and decisions of our staff. If you want to discuss your point of view, by all means- we're very reasonable people who mean you no disrespect. But at the end of the day, we have the final say on powers and application acceptance.
if I could sum up the rules as: 'be friends, love each other, be good people,' I would. But not even I love everyone. So all I can really say is, respect your fellow RP'er as a human. Try to remember to tolerate them, and keep in mind this is a RP site- not everything needs to be personal. please do not criticize your fellow RP'er, their writing, or their characters in a topic or rant about them in the chatbox.
in addition, Please try to remember that people have different views and backgrounds than you do. We do not want to shut down respectful conversations and questions, but we also do not want inflammatory content that makes anyone else feel judged. Staff will do their best to assess the situation and handle it fairly- we don't hate you if we ask you to please take the conversation out of the box, we're just trying to maintain a generally friendly community.
Word counts are very important. While we won't actively police every thread you're ever in, and while our goal isn't to complain every time you're five words short, we'd like for you to shoot for a hundred and fifty words in each of your in character posts. If your inability- or refusal- to post one hundred and fifty words becomes a problem, we will address it on a person-by-person basis.
You can blame me, Hodekin, for this rule- I loathe mixing real life and anime face claims. I'm sorry for this inconvenience. While I'll put up with Final Fantasy's animated realism, I draw the line at real-life celebrities (unless you have a drawing/anime representation of them). We will allow original artwork.
Please remember to claim your face claims (fc's) we don't want people fighting over the same person simply because someone forgot to apply for a face claim. You may reserve one face claim for an app that has not been accepted. But please do not abuse it or use it to steal a face that you know someone has publicly expressed interest about using. this is not to say someone can express interest about several different faces claims and reserve the right to keep them all. This is a matter of being kind to one another and is in tangent to rule number one, Respect.
